Acceptance
These terms govern your use of the Coepi website and the services provided by People not paperwork, Lda. ("Coepi", "we", "us"). By using the website or the services you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the services.
What we do
Coepi helps individuals with administrative processes in Portugal, in particular obtaining a Portuguese tax number (NIF). The service is delivered through our online platform. The NIF itself is issued by the Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira; Coepi is a private company and not a government agency.
Your account
Some services require an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us immediately about any unauthorised use. The information you give us must be accurate and complete, and you keep it up to date.
Intellectual property
The content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, images and software, belongs to Coepi or its content suppliers and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from it without our written permission.
Payments, fees and refunds
Fees are listed on the website and paid in advance through a third-party payment processor. The fee for a NIF application is paid once; nothing renews. If your application cannot be filed, you get the full fee back. Otherwise, fees are non-refundable once we have started work on your behalf, except where the law requires a refund.
Termination
We may suspend or end your account and access to the services, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these terms or harms other users, us or third parties.
No warranty
The services are provided as they are and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the services will be uninterrupted, error-free or completely secure, and while we aim for accuracy we do not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of the information provided. The decision to issue a NIF is made by the tax authority, not by us.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Coepi, its directors, employees and agents are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the website or the services.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any legal action arising under them is brought exclusively in the courts of Lisbon, Portugal.
Changes
We may change these terms. The new version is posted on this page with a new date, and continued use of the service after that counts as acceptance.
