What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or phone when you visit a website. They make sites work, remember your preferences and tell the site owner how the site is used. Alongside cookies we use the browser's local and session storage, which works the same way and is covered by this policy.
What we use them for
- To make the site and the application work when you use them.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To remember your preferences, such as your language.
- To credit the friend or partner who referred you.
Types of cookies
- Essential. Needed for the site to work and cannot be switched off. Set in response to things you do, like signing in or filling in a form.
- Performance and analytics. Count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the site, and see how visitors move around it.
- Functionality. Remember choices you made, such as your language.
- Marketing. Set by advertising partners to build a profile of your interests. We only set these with your consent.

How we use this to follow a visit
We record the pages you open on coepi.eu and in the application, when you opened them, how long you stayed, where you arrived from, and the type of device and browser you use. Once you create an account we connect those records to it, including the visits you made before signing up on the same browser. We do this to see where an application gets stuck or confusing and fix it. Only Coepi staff see it, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to advertise to you elsewhere. We keep it for no longer than 24 months.
If you would rather we did not, write to privacy@coepi.eu and we delete the records held about you. Clearing your cookies and browser storage also detaches this browser from any earlier history.
Managing cookies
You can delete the cookies already on your device and set most browsers to refuse new ones. If you do, you may have to set some preferences again on each visit, and some parts of the service may not work. For more, see aboutcookies.org.
Changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for legal, regulatory or operational reasons. Check back here from time to time.
